Born and raised in the Columbia area, Josh is a product of the Irmo community he was raised in. He attended Dutch Fork High School and Presbyterian College. While in high school and college, he worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor.

Josh went on to graduate from The University of South Carolina School of Law. During his law school years, he began working for Moore Bradley Myers, where he has been involved in several areas of legal practice, including: construction law, contract disputes, criminal defense, civil litigation, as well as probate law.

Josh currently resides in Lexington with his wife and two children. He is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
